Full English Breakfast

Hi, this recipe is my own and serves one, but can easily be scaled up for more! I have previously made an Easy full english and a Vegan full english, if you want to have a look at those too.

This was much faster to make than I had anticipated and everything came together at the just right time, which is always a bit of a worry with having so many pans on the go at once (and things under the grill too!). You can change up how you cook the egg (I did scrambled) but some other options are poached, boiled, fried or even baked eggs (think Shakshuka-style).

Traditionally, you may also have fried bread, fried or grilled tomatoes and black pudding, so feel free to add those too. And, is usually served with a nice cup of tea.

Enjoy!

Serves: 1

Takes: 20 mins

Ingredients:

-2 sausages

-2 rashers of bacon

-1/3 tin of baked beans

-1 mushroom

-couple of handfuls of spinach

-1 egg

-1 slice of toast, buttered

Method:

1: Preheat the grill to 200℃ / 180℃ fan / 390℉ / medium-high heat. Once hot, put your sausage and bacon under the grill, turn after 5-10mins. Cook until the sausages are browned and piping hot throughout and the bacon is cooked to preference e.g. more crispy or more like ham.

2: Meanwhile, put your baked beans in a saucepan. Whisk your egg in a glass. Slice the mushroom into thin pieces.

3: Then heat some butter in a small frying pan, add your mushrooms, season, and fry until softened. Add a handful of spinach and wilt, until shiny green.

4: Pop a slice of bread into the toaster, and when it pops, spread liberally with butter.

5: Turn on the hob for the baked beans and gently heat.

6: Finally, when everything is ready, start dishing up and put the whisked egg in a frying pan with a little oil, keep stirring to scramble. Serve when ready.
