Full English Breakfast

Hi, this recipe is my own and serves one, but can easily be scaled up for more! I have previously made an Easy full english and a Vegan full english , if you want to have a look at those too.  This was much faster to make than I had anticipated and everything came together at the just right time, which is always a bit of a worry with having so many pans on the go at once (and things under the grill too!). You can change up how you cook the egg (I did scrambled) but some other options are poached, boiled, fried or even baked eggs (think Shakshuka-style).  Traditionally, you may also have fried bread, fried or grilled tomatoes and black pudding, so feel free to add those too. And, is usually served with a nice cup of tea. Enjoy! Sausage Bars/Rolls

This recipe is from the 'The Dairy Book of Family Cookery. It was so much fun to make and tasted amazing at the end. I definitely recommend this for anyone to make.

Dietary info:
-No nuts
-Contains diary
-Contains gluten (Check the packet of sausage that you're using as some have gluten in)
-Unsuitable for vegans

Ingredients:
-368g (13oz) packet of frozen puff pastry, thawed
-1 large onion, skinned and finely chopped
-225g (8oz) sausage meat
-175g (6oz) English Cheddar cheese, grated
-30ml (2tbsp) tomato purée
-30ml (2tbsp) fresh breadcrumbs
-1 egg, beaten
-Salt and freshly ground pepper
-Milk to glaze

Method:
1:Roll out the pastry into an oblong, approximately 35.5 x 25.5cm (14 x 10 inches). Place on a dampened baking tray.{I suggest that you put down some baking paper as well}

2:Combine the onion, sausage meat, cheese, tomato puree, breadcrumbs, egg, salt and freshly ground pepper, then place in a strip down the center of the pastry.
3:Dampen the edges of the pastry and seal together. Turn pastry over so that the join is underneath. Make diagonal cuts in the pastry with a sharp knife; brush with milk.
4:Bake in a hot oven at (400℉/200℃/180℃ fan/ Gas 6) for 35-40 mins. Serve the sausage bars hot or cold, cut into slices.
